Practitioner Training

Welcome to Engaging Fathers in Parenting Programs: National Practitioner Training (Canada).

The potential benefit of participating in this study is access to training in father engagement strategies, which may increase your knowledge, skills, and/or confidence in working with fathers. You will also receive a certificate of completion that can be used to demonstrate continuing professional development, and additional resources, including Best Practice Guidelines for Engaging Fathers.

Steps to complete the training:

1. Choose the time and location

• Please set aside 2 hours to complete the training and put this time in your diary so you don’t get distracted (make sure to discuss with your workplace if it’s during work hours).
• Find a quiet place in your house or office.
• Ensure that you are watching the training alone (individual data collection is essential for our study).

2. Read the information sheet, sign the online consent form, and complete the pre-training survey

As the training is part of a research study, participants will be asked to complete questionnaires at two different time points: 1) before training; 2) after the training is completed. The information sheet and consent form can be found below on this page.

3. Access the online training

Download the workbook, click the play button, and view the training video.

4. Fill in the post-training questionnaire

5. Download certificate of completion and Best Practice Guidelines

After completing the post-training questionnaire, you will be able to download a certificate of completion and Best Practice Guidelines for Engaging Fathers.
